About Broadway Bares

Born in the lively world of New York, Broadway Bares burst onto the stage in 1992 with the vision of supporting those affected by HIV/AIDS through art. Conceived by legendary director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell, the event sparks joy by crafting awe-inspiring shows while making significant contributions to our community.

In 2016, Broadway Bares expanded its horizons and planted roots in San Francisco. Since then, each year Broadway Bares San Francisco performs to sell-out crowds while raising funds for HIV/AIDS services, hunger programs, and programs that serve and support homeless youth.

The causes we support

Richmond/Ermet Aid Foundation

REAF is a grass-roots agency founded by two mothers who lost their only sons to AIDS as a way of honoring their sons' memories and of supporting all the other sons and daughters still living with HIV. REAF supports advocacy that affects public policy, education for the prevention of, and research for a cure to AIDS/HIV. REAF also provides funding for hunger programs and programs that serve and support homeless youth.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS

BCEFA is a vital force in philanthropy, supporting individuals nationwide with lifesaving medications, healthcare, meals, and financial aid. As a leading industry-based nonprofit, it has raised over $300 million since 1988, benefitting those affected by HIV/AIDS, COVID-19, and critical illnesses. Their extensive grants aid numerous service organizations, making them a cornerstone for essential social services in the entertainment community.

2024 Corporate and Financial Sponsors

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the sponsors of Broadway Bares SF VII: FilmStrips. The funds raised not only provide vital support to local SF HIV/AIDS programs, but the special artist community that has materialized as a result of this show has created a vital outlet for performers that is not met elsewhere in the SF Bay Area
